The Circle Back Initiative has been created by Talentrich to improve the experience candidates receive after submitting a job application.
The initiative is a collection of Employers who commit to our guiding standards on candidate communication.
Our initiative champions agree to respond to every applicant.
WHAT IS THE CIRCLE BACK INITIATIVE?
The Circle Back Initiative is a collection of employers who commit to responding to every job applicant.
One of the biggest complaints we hear from candidates is that they often do not hear back from employers post-application or even interview.
An application and recruitment process can often be an emotional and frustrating one. Candidates invest significant amounts of time and energy into improving and honing their CVs, cover letters, job applications and preparing for interviews. They're often jumping through application hoops put in their way to finally be able to click submit or attend an interview, which is invariably followed by........ silence.
Particularly in the current climate, so much hope hangs on every job application. Our view is that employers have a significant part to play in treating this hope and the applicant with respect, and provide a candidate experience that counts, by responding to every applicant.
Not only that, but we know providing a great candidate experience helps employers to protect and showcase their brand, create and maintain an excellent reputation, candidates become or stay as customers, and additionally become advocates for your organisation. We also find that we can hire great people, faster.
We want to help make a change and encourage and champion organisations who respond to every applicant. We recognise this can be a challenge when it comes to the volume of applications received; however, we are here to support and advise employers who would like to achieve this.
We are looking for employers to become a Circle Back Initiative Employer by bringing meaning to the candidate experience by committing to respond to all applicants.
By signing up for the Circle Back Initiative, your organisation is making a commitment, along with other employers, to ensure EVERY candidate who applies for a role in your company receives an outcome response. That's it....no audit from us or spot checks, just a commitment to candidates.
It's free to become a Circle Back Employer. Each employer will receive a Circle Back Initiative badge, which can be used on job ads and careers websites, for example, to highlight your commitment.
THE CIRCLE BACK INITIATIVE
The Circle Back Initiative employers agree to the following 5 standards as a minimum:
EVERY APPLICANT RECEIVES AN APPLICATION RECEIVED EMAIL
Every applicant must receive an email acknowledging receipt of their application. The email receipt should not include statements such as "if you do not hear from us within "x" weeks please presume your application has been unsuccessful" or "Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted"
EVERY UNSUCCESSFUL APPLICATION RECEIVES AN OUTCOME EMAIL, SMS, OR OTHER WRITTEN COMMUNICATION
Not hearing back on the outcome of a job application made is one of the biggest complaints from applicants. Our guiding standard is that every applicant receives an outcome email, SMS, Whatsapp or other written communication as a minimum.
EVERY ONLINE ASSESSED CANDIDATE RECEIVES AN OUTCOME EMAIL, SMS, OR OTHER WRITTEN COMMUNICATION
Every candidate who completes an online assessment prior to any interview or completes an asynchronous / recorded video interview should receive an outcome email, SMS, Whatsapp or other written communication as a minimum.
EVERY CANDIDATE INTERVIEWED FACE TO FACE OR VIA LIVE VIDEO MUST BE PROVIDED WITH A VERBAL OUTCOME/ FEEDBACK. FOR BULK / HIGH VOLUME RECRUITMENT ONLY, A WRITTEN OUTCOME / FEEDBACK CAN BE PROVIDED AS AN ALTERNATIVE.
Every candidate who attends a face to face or live video interview must receive a verbal outcome / feedback, be that a phone or video call. However an outcome/feedback email or other written communication is an acceptable alternative only when recruiting high/bulk volumes of the same role type and when the candidate has been made aware at, or prior, to interview, that a written outcome/ feedback will be provided.
JOB ADVERTS DO NOT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS
Jobs adverts to not contain statements such as "only shortlist candidates / successful candidates will be contacted".
